Bipasha Basu, the eternal Bengali beauty together with Anil Kapoor announced 13th Videocon IIFA Weekend and Awards. The prestigious awards ceremony shall be organized once again in Lion City, Singapore. The three day complete action packed event shall be held from June 7th-9th , 2012. The actress has a long association with International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) and has given many alluring and fascinating performances at previous IIFA ceremonies.

Bipasha Basu, the model turned actress always keeps up her ‘wow’ factor in the glamour industry, where she belongs for more than 10 years now. Childhood Days

She was born on January 7th, 1979 to a Bengali Hindu family in Delhi. She is second amongst three sisters. Throughout her childhood days she was a tomboy and was pampered by all because of her naughty tricks. She was called as 'Lady Don' in the school.

Education

Bipasha did her schooling from Apeejay High School till she was eight years later after her family moved to Kolkata she joined Bhavan's Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandi where studied till she finished 12th standard.

Love Interests

The first man in Bipasha’s life to whom she loved was Dino Morea. It was a teenage love as the cupid struck when she was only 17th years. They were in relationship from 1996 till 2002. Later the young lady while doing the movie Jism started dating John Abraham. It was 2003 they became close to one another and continued to be in relationship till 2011 end. They together looked just perfect and Indian media were referred as supercouple. Unfortunately, they broke off without citing any specific reasons. It is sad but a fact.



Modelling Career

Bipasha started her career as a model at a tender age of 17th. She opted for this career option against the wishes of the family hence handled her career all by herself in the initial days. She won Godrej Cinthol Supermodel Contest as well as Ford Models Supermodel of the World contest in 1996. This was the beginning of her modelling career. During her modelling career she was part of many commercials, fashion shows and appeared on 40 and more magazine covers.

Bollywood Movie Debut

She joined the film industry with ‘Ajnabee’ in the year 2001. She was one amongst the two female lead heroines but her character had negative shades. She was quite convincing in her performance kand inspite of playing a negative role she was able to win the hearts of world-wide audience. In the movie she was paired opposite Akshay Kumar. Bipasha had luck on her side that she could make such an impressive debut opposite big names in the industry. The movie established her as the promising actress in Hindi film industry.

The Bengali beauty gave her first commercially successful movie at the Box Office with Raaz in 2002. It was a horror movie directed by Vikram Bhat. In the movie she played wife to Dino Morea. This being her second movie she gave the performance much better than expected. Viewers were able to connect with Bipasha Basu as Sanjana instantly in Raaz. This was followed by Race in 2008. Bipasha stormed in Bollywood with oozing confidence which she showcased in the performance in her first debut movie ‘Ajnabee’. After this she gained two nominations for Filmfare Award for Best Actress, two for Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress and one nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role.
